Make a safe observation
If the controller's normal off control is accessible and familiar, note whether using it stops the water. If it does not, only use a clearly identified irrigation shutoff you already know how to operate safely. Do not force unfamiliar valves or touch wet electrical equipment.
What to report
Share the affected zone, approximate start time and whether water is continuously flowing or slowly pooling near one head. Low-point drainage after a cycle is different from sustained flow, so duration matters.
Assessment and quote
Ask the provider to separate scheduling faults from valve faults and explain any proposed replacement. Confirm that the completed visit includes a stop/start test and checks for continued seepage after the cycle.

Is the repair intended to fix one valve, or is there evidence that several zones are affected?
