Provide the controller location, known shutoff information and any record of prior winter preparation. List areas with trouble last season. Keep pets away from the work area and arrange access to gated sections of the yard.
Agree on the assessment
Ask which zones will be checked, whether visible leaks and coverage are reviewed and how damaged components are reported. Confirm whether scheduling adjustments are included and whether repairs require separate approval.
Keep the results
Request a zone list, identified issues and the final controller settings. Where repairs are deferred, ask how to leave the affected portion safely out of operation without disabling unrelated areas unnecessarily.
