Information to gather
Share the controller location, any visible exposed piping and records from the previous winterization visit. Tell the provider if sections were added or repaired since then. Do not open unfamiliar backflow equipment or electrical enclosures.
Ask about the method
Have the contractor explain the appropriate shutdown approach for your system and which components are included. Compressed-air work requires suitable equipment and expertise; this guide is not a procedure for attempting it yourself.
Scope and restart
Clarify the shutdown date, access requirements, documentation and whether spring startup is a separate service. Ask who is responsible for equipment left energized and how the final settings are recorded.
